Kate spent last weekend in Columbus, OH at Skate for Hope, which raises donations and awareness for breast cancer. Online skating forums were buzzing about the event, particularly Beyonce’s “All the Single Ladies,” a group number that Kate choreographed for cast members Rachael Flatt, Alexe Gilles, Caitlin Yankowskas, and Emily Samuelson.
This week Kate was also quoted in the IceNetwork.com blog, The Inside Edge with Sarah and Drew, on the return of Audrey Weisiger’s Young Artists Showcase (YAS) this fall.
While Kate won’t be reentering this year, she was a finalist in YAS last year, and credits it with essentially launching her choreo career.
Since YAS last summer, Kate notes, she’s had more interest in her Sk8tivity clinics, she’s choreographed exhibition pieces for Adam Rippon and Rachael Flatt (left), and she’s had the opportunity to work with stars of the skating world at fun events like Skate for Hope!
