Kate Again Wins Artistic Competition

Kate just competed at the 2012 National Showcase Artistic Competition, again becoming a Senior Level winner, although this time in the comedic category rather than the dramatic category, where she has won twice before.

This year, Kate traveled to the San Diego area to compete at the Iceoplex Escondido Arena, where she took first place in Senior “Light,” and third place overall in the Parade of Champions!

She performed the piece “Choreography,” sung by Danny Kaye in the movie White Christmas, because she thought it funny for a choreographer to choose a song making light of dance and choreography.

Watch it now—an upbeat number with what Kate calls “lots of silly facial expressions, ‘jazz hands,’ theatrical dance steps, and comedic moments:”
